Employee who held up restaurant returns, gets arrested

TARRANT — The old saying about criminals returning to the scene of the crime proved true Monday.

Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives were talking to managers of Jack's Restaurant on Pinson Valley Parkway near the Pawnee neighborhood, after the restaurant had been robbed by one of the employees on Friday. As they were conducting the interviews, the suspect walked in to visit co-workers, and was arrested on the spot.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian said that employees thought the suspect was playing a joke on them when he held up the store shortly after finishing his work shift. He took an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is charged with first-degree robbery and held on $20,000 bond. His name has not been released yet, pending formal charges.
