MONTGOMERY, Ala. — State Rep. David Standridge (R-Hayden) may no longer be a probate judge, but he will still be dealing with judicial matters.
Standridge was named to the House Judiciary Committee for the coming session, House Speaker Mike Hubbard announced Thursday.
“David’s successful career as a probate judge and a law enforcement official makes him a unique and ideal choice and I’m confident he will provide helpful guidance and insight to the judiciary committee,” Hubbard said in a press release.
Standridge was elected to the District 34 seat in a special election last December. Previously, he had served as Blount County Probate Judge and president of the county commission. He had a lengthy career with the Blount County Sheriff's Office, rising to the rank of captain.
Standridge also serves on the Public Safety and Homeland Committee, as well as the County and Municipal Government Committee.
