FORESTDALE — Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies acted on an anonymous tip to find a working methamphetamine lab Sunday evening.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian said a=that the lab was found in a shed near a house in the 1100 block of Heflin Ave. West in Forestdale, near the Sandusky community. Deputies following up on the tip arrived at the scene to find a man with meth and used filters on his person.

The owner of the property gave deputies permission to search. When they opened the door to the shed attached to a garage, white smoke and a strong chemical odor came out.

Deputies evacuated the area while narcotics investigators processed and deactivated the lab.
