GARDENDALE — Three suspects in a robbery have been taken into custody after a pursuit that finally ended in Forestdale.

The robbery took place at the Dollar General store on Mt. Olive Road at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. According to a press statement from the Gardendale Police Department, a 29-year-old man from Graysville held up the store, taking "an undetermined amount of currency, Reese's miniatures and Ritz crackers."

After a description was put out on police radio, the suspect was seen driving south on I-65 in a truck reported stolen from Blount County. The truck had three passengers, and a chase began when the driver refused to stop. During that chase, the suspects started to throw money out the windows.

The chase ended in the Forestdale area when two tires blew out on the truck, and the suspects were captured.

There were no injuries.

The names of the suspects and their charges will be released once they are formally booked.
