VIDEO: Fultondale opens new public library

FULTONDALE — Residents of Fultondale have a now shiny new library.

The new facility was opened in a ceremony Monday morning with Mayor Jim Lowery and members of the city council and library board.

The new library features plenty of chairs for reading, more than a dozen computer terminals, a meeting room and a small kitchen area.

The facility also includes additional restrooms accessible from the outside, which are intended for use with new tennis courts to be built adjacent to the library at a later date.

The library is located next door to the shopping center on Decayur Highway that houses Winn-Dixie. It replaces a smaller facility that was located next to City Hall.
