On Friday, Gardendale detectives obtained arrest warrants on Calvin Lloyd Pugh (a/k/a BK) for three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (heroin) with a bond of $20,000 for each count. A warrant was also obtained for one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin) with a bond of $10,000.
Pugh is being held at the Gardendale Police Department and will soon be transferred to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a total bond of $70,000.
Warrior council meets
The Warrior Council approved a $1,500 donation to the Lions Club on Monday for the annual Warrior Day celebration this fall. In other business, the council:
• Appointed Brenda Ragland to a vacancy on the Library Board, with Mayor Pro Tem Johnny Ragland abstaining
• Approving the installation of a speed breaker on Goodwin Drive
Fultondale residents vote at senior center
All Fultondale residents will vote at the Fultondale Senior Center for the municipal elections on Aug. 28. Usually, some residents vote at Fultondale City Hall, but there will be only one polling site for this election.
Kimberly taking applications for Christmas parade
The city of Kimberly is taking applications for its eighth Christmas parade, which is set for Dec. 1 with a rain date of Dec. 8. There is no fee to be in the parade. For more information, call Mona Hendrix, assistant city clerk, at 647-5551.
