North Jefferson cities are already on the lookout for Santa Claus, and they are planning Christmas parades to make him feel welcome.
Gardendale’s annual parade, which organizers say draw 15,000 people to the city, is on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
This year’s theme is Carols of Christmas.
Entry is free for Gardendale Area Chamber of Commerce members and for nonprofit organizations, schools, churches and individuals. The entry fee is $50 for all businesses and for-profit organizations.
For an application, visit www.gardendalechamber.com.
The deadline to turn in an application and entry fee is Dec. 3.
For more information, call the chamber at 631-9195.
Kimberly
The city of Kimberly also hosts an annual parade. This year’s parade is Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
Entry into Kimberly’s parade is free. Lineup is at 5 p.m. at Bryan Elementary School.
Immediately following the parade is a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at the city park in front of Kimberly United Methodist Church, just off of U.S. Hwy. 31.
The rain date is Dec. 8
For more information, call city hall at 647-5551.
Warrior
Last year, Warrior revived its tradition of hosting a Christmas parade. It will continue the tradition this year.
The parade is Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. There is no entry fee to be in the parade.
To learn more, call Ann Crane at 647-0520.
Morris
Morris Christmas parade is Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $10 or a new, unwrapped toy, which will support the town’s Families Helping Families charity program.
A festival will follow the parade at the park in front of city hall.
For more information, call city hall at 647-0569.
In all parades, participants are asked to not have anyone dressed as Santa Claus on their floats, because the real Santa will bring up the rear of all of the parades.
