Gardendale Historical Society to dedicate mural

GARDENDALE — The Gardendale Historical Society will hold a dedication ceremony Saturday for a historical mural that was painted by Gardendale Junior High art class students in 1940-41.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the main entrance of the Gardendale Civic Center

The mural is one of two murals that were displayed in the school that was located on Mitchell Hill Road. They were saved from destruction by Lisa Brock Parker, who donated the industrial scene mural to the Historical Society.

The Historical Society had the mural restored, and it is now hanging in the Civic Center for public viewing.
