BIRMINGHAM — The woman charged with running over a Gardendale man last year has been convicted of reckless manslaughter.
Jessica Branham was found guilty in Jefferson Circuit Court Wednesday morning in the death of Randy Colburn in August 2011. Prosecutors said Branham had been shooting cocaine in the parking lot of CiCi's Pizza in Center Point, while she was sitting in car. She had a seizure and lost control of the car, striking Colburn and pinning him under the car. He also suffered burns from the catalytic converter.
Colburn was crossing the parking lot with his fiancée and her teenage son at the time.
Branham will be sentenced on Nov. 9.
