Fultondale, Graysville men arrested for sandwich shop robbery

Just before 8 p.m. Thursday, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a sandwich shop in the 1100 block of Forestdale Boulevard. The first deputy arrived on scene one minute after the call was dispatched.
It was learned that a male suspect in a maroon hoodie had entered the store and presented a handgun. He demanded money and then left in a white Chevrolet pickup truck driven by another man.
A description of the suspects and their vehicle was immediately broadcast to other responding units.
Deputies in the area spotted the suspect vehicle traveling along East Bayonne Drive and initiated a traffic stop. It was occupied by two suspects matching the description given.
The truck was stopped and the suspects taken into custody. The passenger was wearing a maroon hoodie matching the description given.
Surveillance video from the sandwich shop confirmed that this was the man who had committed the robbery. Cash and a handgun were also found in the suspect's truck.
The pair was identified as cousins Jeffery Busby, 41, of Fultondale and David Busby, 37, of Graysville.
They were questioned by detectives. While neither admitted to committing the robbery, Jeffery told detectives he need the money to buy Christmas gifts for his daughter and to support his heroin addiction.
Both were charged with robbery first degree and are being held in the Jefferson County Jail with $60,000 bond each
