Splash pad too far for children to walk to

It has been 70 some odd years ago when we as kids would walk to the park in Tarrant City to play in the swimming pool during summer break. It was a lot of fun to be able to play in the water to keep cool.

A few days ago I was reading where the Gardendale City Council voted to open our park out on Fieldstown Road to a water slide.

The park out there is way too far for children to walk to.

There are churches all over the greater Gardendale area, most with buses of various sizes that could make scheduled pick ups at their church and make runs to the water parks. Heck, it is only for a couple of months anyway!

Take donations for the gas if you have to. The kids will get a break and their parents too.
