Commission thanks workers for help

Thank you for all the hard work of some great citizens of our city who worked on April 12, picking up trash on Newfound, Shady Grove and New Castle roads.

A large dump truck was filled with bags of trash. Those working were: Manya Barnett, Rosemary Smith, Dianne Pinyan, Louie Pearson, Truett Guffin, Wynema Vogel, Robert Ryant, Marleen Heilman and Robin Crocker.

We also had help from some of our city employees, including: park and recreation employees Greg Hughes and Norman Miller; public works employees Jerome Jackson, Cordell Nation and Bobby Stover; and from our police department, two officers who ensured we stayed safe, Brad Cotton and Kyle Pannell.

We ask that you think before you throw any trash out of your vehicle. Also, picking up trash in and around your neighborhood is always appreciated.

It takes everyone working to help keep Gardendale a clean city.
