Teams playing in the Dizzy Dean 7-year-old World Series posed for a group photo on the lawn at the Gardendale Civic Center at opening ceremonies on Thursday night. The opening ceremony included a parade of teams, inflatables and a fireworks show. There are about 48 teams from the southeast competing in the series, scheduled to run through next week.
