A mixture to keep white flies away

NORTH JEFFERSON — Garden tip: White flies are on several plants at this writing. Mix one tablespoon of dish liquid with 1/4 cup of Listerine mouth wash with 1/4 cup of ammonia and one tablespoon of garlic powder. Over spray with this mixture in one gallon of warm water. Use the spray mixture while the water is still warm. You can use a quart sprayer or a gallon sprayer.

• Correction: Stewart Chapel Methodist Church will host a singing on July 18. The singers are “Free Indeed.” They are from Eva. They sing blue grass gospel. Come enjoy the singing and bring a friend.

• Members of Stewart Chapel had a very nice meal at the Angler Restaurant in Cullman. Around 40 were present. Many thanks goes to the men’s group for this wonderful outing and the wonderful food. They were honored to have a special singer, Pam Svell on the Fourth of July from Philadelphia, Pa. Pam’s singing was enjoyed by all of the members of Stewart Chapel Church. She was visiting Johnathan Green

• Sympathy and prayers are needed for the family of Linda Mae Berry Meade. She left this walk of life last week. Many thanks for the kind words spoken, for the wonderful food sent, for the prayers and for anything given during this time of the family’s loss.

• Please continue to pray for all that are sick; especially for Joan James, Marie James of Gardendale, Orine Jones of Gardendale and Mary Ceytes. May God bless each one.

• Remember to pray for our troops that are in harm’s way and pray for our country.

Last day for ball registration
Today is last day for Morris Youth Association baseball/softball registration. You can register at Warrior Elementary School Gym from 9 a.m. till noon. The cost is $145 for ages 5-12 and $65 for ages 3-4.
