Use pins to hold lawn bag open

Warrior, Corner and Hayden News by Evangeline Sloan

The North Jefferson News

Garden tip: Fall leaves have covered the ground with the most leaves I have ever seen. A great way to clean them up is to open a lawn garbage bag and use clothes pins to pin the bag to a fence, trellis or two branches of a shrub or tree. This will keep the bag open until you have filled it with raked leaves. Please recycle them.

• Happy birthday greetings to: Evelyn Sloan on Dec. 13; my lovely daughter Emma on Dec. 15; Peggie Fields and Polly Fulmer on Dec. 15; my grandson Jacob (Jake) Sloan on Dec. 17; and my cousin Donna Mayfield Smith and Buddy Cope on Dec. 18. To all a great day and year.

• The Warrior Lions Club is selling 5-pound bags of cracked pecans for $12 a bag. They can be purchased at Young’s Grocery in Trafford, Jones Cleaners in Warrior, Ace Hardware, R&R Drugs and Superior Bank.

• I would appreciate Mrs. M. Nichols calling me. I lost your phone number, please call me. I have an update to tell you. Thanks for everything.
