There will be a St. Patrick’s Day Show on March 17 at Park Place at Moncrief Park in Gardendale. Doors open at 6 p.m. and show starts at 7 p.m. featuring Tara Kay and “The Stylings of Reba.” There will be green refreshments. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Call 901-1174 for more information. They have also adopted the North Jefferson Baptist Association food and clothing bank as their 2009 charity. Donations are welcome at the show.

• Happy belated birthday to Lane Hollis who turned 12 on Feb. 24. He is the son of Brenda and Keith Hollis. Lane celebrated his birthday on Feb. 23 with a party at home with family and friends.

• The Mt. Olive Cemetery trustees will be cleaning the cemetery the first week of April. Please pick up anything you wish to keep.

• Don’t forget to wear green on Tuesday to avoid the pinch that might be coming your way on St. Patrick’s Day!

• The North Arts Council will be having their spring arts and crafts show at the Gardendale Civic Center. There will be extended hours on March 27 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and March 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 50 vendors will be participating with a variety of crafts. You can also have your child’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny. There will be door prizes. Last year I won a beautiful flower arrangement that I still have sitting by the sink in my kitchen. If you would like to have a booth, contact Angie Doss after 7 p.m. at 681-8028.
