Gardendale, Fultondale welcome new businesses

NORTH JEFFERSON — Many new businesses have opened or had grand re-opening or groundbreaking ceremonies in north Jefferson County recently.

Among the local businesses that have hosted ribbon cuttings or groundbreaking ceremonies in June and July are:

• Gardendale Farmers Market

• Fultondale Fresh Market

• Yellow Hammer Roofing and  All Choice Insurance

• Woodmen of the World

• Gardendale Jewelers grand re-opening

• Attorney LIz Young

• Lemak Sports Medicine

• Dr. Brandy Stewart

• Birmingham Record Company

• Black Creek Park concession stand

• New Castle Park groundbreaking

Scheduled for later this month are ribbon cutting ceremonies at Gardendale Pharmacy and Gardendale Music and a groundbreaking ceremony at the new Fultondale Public Library.

  Gardendale Mayor Othell Phillips was the Jan. 30 guest speaker at the Gardendale Area Rotary Club meeting. He was the guest of Rasheeda Burton of Alabama Power Company. Phillips gave a brief overview of the city, including departments, and gave updates on several ongoing projects in Gardendale.
