Trafford Christmas Tree Farm now open for business

Area families can now carry on the annual tradition of cutting down their own tree for Christmas.

Beavers Christmas Tree Farm in Trafford opened for business on Saturday and will remain open through Dec. 22.

Owners Paul and Caroline Beavers said they are ready for the crowds. This year Carolyn has price-tagged 3,200 trees, almost 1,000 more than last year.

There are many types of trees at various prices available at the farm. The tagged trees include white pines, Virginia pines, Carolina sapphires, red and burkii cedars and even Japanese cedars.

The Beavers also imported more than 200 Fraser firs from North Carolina.

There are also container trees, which may be removed from their pots and planted after Christmas. They include leland cypress, Carolina sapphire, red cedar and deodar cedar.

In addition to selling Christmas trees, Carolyn also hand-makes fresh wreaths.

Visitors to the farm will find free hot chocolate and hay rides on the weekends. This week only, there will also be hay rides on Friday.

The business is open daily from 9 a.m. until dark.
