An emu roamed the streets around Parker Avenue and Skelton Drive around the south end of Gardendale on Wednesday. Police and a Birmingham Humane Society expert were able to round up the large bird near the Magnolia Ridge Nursing Home. The bird was taken to a Humane Society rescue barn in Mt. Olive.
