Officials and staff from Gardendale city government look on as Mayor Othell Phillips cuts the ribbon to officially open the new Public Safety Center on Thursday. The new center is home to the police department, city jail and municipal court, and is also where the city council now holds its meetings. The center is located in the former Food World building on Decatur Highway.
