  The North Jefferson News was established in Gardendale in 1970. The paper is owned and operated by Newspaper Holdings, Inc. We publish twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Our cost is $.75 per issue. Subscriptions are $35 per year and $31.50 for senior citizens.
  
  
  
  
  
  Who we cover
  
  Our coverage area is, like our name suggests, northern Jefferson County. We cover from Fultondale to Hayden on the Blount County line, and every town in between. We also occasionally cover other cities like Birmingham, Pinson and Trussville if our readers will be affected by stories in those cities.

  Announce a birth, birthday, graduation, engagement or wedding in our society page that publishes on Saturdays. Graduations, engagements and weddings are $25 for a two-column photo and caption. Birthdays and birth announcements are $20 for a two-column photo and caption.
